Hearing of you intention to do a lesson on the proverbial 'N T goodness & 0 T
severity of God', I thought you might find the enclosed 2 articles
interesting and maybe helpful - if you haven't already seen them.
I think you will find them of the same calibre as pastor Paul Sheehan's no-nonsense,
no-hype, no-compromise, no-popularity approach.
I also dropped in a couple of Dr Joseph Chambers' articles for good measure.
I think they all speak for themselves and show what our role really is, if we are not to
go backwards (usually in the name of going forwards!).
I might say Bruce, it is for sure not our role to try and add new cloth to old garments,
that is, build God's house on a rotten foundation of denominational doctrines of devils
set in the concrete of fundamental church creeds - for example, supposed
'unconditional grace’, 'carnal (sinful) Christianity', once saved
always saved’, and a rampant hobnobbing with a form of the antichrist - to name a
few.
In fact I believe it can only be rotten new cloth of compromise that can be added
to rotten old cloth.
For birds of a feather are the only ones who can flock together ... Amos 3:3.
Even 'Babylonian' tongue-talkers either speaking in the 'Spirit' to the
veneration of their 'Queen of Heaven" or
"rediscovering a place of devotion to her; as also the Real Presence in the
Eucharist" - transubstanciation, is no ecumenical advertisement to me!
And when the follow-up director of the African 'revival' says that the thing he
finds generally missing in the aftermath is changed lives, it has me wondering. Obviously,
conversion is yet to come!
Never in history has God renewed the harlot or her daughters, though He has
passed it by (after warning) and raised up a remnant who have come out to serve
Him in the wilderness without the camp, bearing His reproach.
Thought you might be interested in my last print as well, also enclosed as a last thought.
