Dear World and
Churches of the World, consider your ways.........
Eighteen months ago I had never been to church in my
life. Through the incredible twists and turns that is
the path taken by someone on their way to salvation, I
found myself giving my heart to Jesus in the setting of
what they call a Pentecostal church - a Phil Pringle
Pentecostal Church in Brisbane City.....Christian City
Church.
This church was geared around the social scene, youth
nights, pizza nights, cafe nights, soccer matches and it
goes on. I so desperately needed to learn to know more
about Christ-God. It was as if he (God) knew my
thoughts, heart, secret desires and wants but he was
preparing the way for me. Where I was at this
Pentecostal church was not enough, I could only call
it sanitized, shallow, worldly sermons.
Stories that kept on about earthly possessions, stories
that basically glorified money and finances and what
these are able to accomplish. It simply wore thin with
me despite creating plenty of revelry amongst the church
youth.......click.
I felt less and less impressed with the length of time
given to music-band, the plug on tithing and the upcoming
events which all emphasized $$$$ money. I would go home
starving spiritually and no mid-week event could fill or
feed this need for The Word of God. Then suddenly, one
day, I was on the phone talking to a Christian friend of
mine in another City -Sydney and I mentioned my
dissatisfaction with church, the church I was attending
and my friend made mention of Pastor Paul Sheehan. The
terms used to describe this man was.......tough love,
the truth, and the real deal and my friend also said you
might be shocked.......Mark 2:1.....click.
Well, I made the trip to Ipswich and I was shocked. The
only thing that shocked me was....."why don't
more people know about this man"???.....click.
I am no longer spiritually starved for I am being filled
to overflowing every Sunday. I am finally being fed
'The Word of God'...with such sincerity and such
authority that I can't stop telling others about
it.....click.
Nobody who attends this church lives locally in Ipswich,
everyone drives from all over the place to come and hear
Paul Sheehan preach. Is this not further testimony to
the power with which he preaches the word of God?....click.
I have learnt more at JTCM in the past month than I
did at CCC-Brisbane in 18 months
